About Tetris
Tetris is one of the most iconic video games ever created. Developed by Russian programmer Alexey Pajitnov in 1985, it has become a timeless classic enjoyed by millions around the world.
How to Play
- Move: Use left/right arrow keys to move pieces horizontally
- Rotate: Use up arrow or Z key to rotate pieces
- Soft drop: Press down arrow to drop pieces faster
- Hard drop: Press space bar to instantly drop pieces
- Clear lines: Complete horizontal lines to clear them and score points
The Seven Tetrominoes
Each piece is made of four squares arranged in different shapes:
- I: Long straight piece (4 blocks in a row)
- O: Square piece (2x2 blocks)
- T: T-shaped piece
- S: S-shaped zigzag
- Z: Z-shaped zigzag
- J: J-shaped piece
- L: L-shaped piece
Scoring Tips
- Clear multiple lines: Clearing 4 lines at once (Tetris) gives maximum points
- Keep it low: Don't let your stack get too high
- Plan ahead: Watch the "next piece" preview
- Don't create holes: Avoid leaving gaps under blocks
