Korea Electricity Bill Calculator ⚡

Enter monthly usage and get the bill exactly as KEPCO computes it — progressive tiers, seasonal brackets, surcharges, VAT and fund included. It even tells you what the next kWh costs.

Why Korean electricity bills defy mental math

A Korean residential bill is never just "usage × price". Unit prices climb in steps as you use more, the step boundaries move with the seasons, the base charge jumps up to 8× depending on which tier you reach, and two per-kWh surcharges plus VAT and a 2.7% industry fund are stacked on top — each with its own rounding rule. This calculator reproduces the entire sequence exactly as it appears on a KEPCO bill, so the total matches what you'd actually pay.

Tips for the summer peak

  • Watch the boundaries — in summer the jumps happen at 300kWh and 450kWh. If you're near a boundary, saving a few kWh pays off disproportionately.
  • Check the marginal price — the "next 1kWh" hint shows your current tier's real cost. An hour of air-conditioning costs 2.5× more in tier 3 than tier 1.
  • Know your meter-reading date — your billing month may not match the calendar month. Combine the KEPCO ON app's live reading with this calculator to forecast the final bill.
