What is Block Puzzle?

Block Puzzle is the block-placement puzzle genre that has dominated mobile game charts worldwide. Drag the three pieces from the tray onto the 8×8 board; when a row or column is completely filled, it clears and you score points. Unlike Tetris, nothing falls and there is no timer — it's a relaxing puzzle where you can take your time and plan every move.

How to Play

  1. Place: Drag a piece from the tray with your finger or mouse onto any open spot on the board.
  2. Clear: Fill an entire row or column (8 cells) to clear it — multiple lines can clear at once!
  3. Refill: Once all three pieces are used, a fresh set of three appears.
  4. Game over: The game ends when none of your remaining pieces fit anywhere on the board.

Scoring

  • Placement: Every piece scores points equal to its number of cells.
  • Line clear bonus: 10 points per line — and clearing several lines at once multiplies the bonus (2 lines = 40, 3 lines = 90).
  • Combos: Clearing lines on consecutive turns builds a combo multiplier for even bigger scores.

Tips for High Scores

  • Save room for big pieces: Always keep space for a 3×3 square or a 5-cell line — getting stuck with a big piece is how most runs end.
  • Set up multi-line clears: Clearing a row and a column together earns far more than clearing them one at a time.
  • Keep the combo alive: Clearing at least one line every turn maintains your combo — sometimes it pays to save a nearly-full line for the next turn.
  • Fill from the edges: Keeping the center open makes it easier to fit whatever pieces come next.

FAQ

Q. Is it free? Do I need to install anything?

Completely free — play instantly in your browser with no install or sign-up. Touch-drag is fully supported on mobile.

Q. Can I rotate pieces?

No — pieces are placed exactly as shown. That's the rule of the genre, and it's what makes placement order and space management the real challenge.

Q. Is my score saved?

Your best score is saved automatically in your browser, and new records can be submitted to the global leaderboard with a nickname.

Q. How is it different from Tetris?

Tetris is a speed game with falling blocks; Block Puzzle has no timer — you place each piece wherever you choose, making it a pure strategy puzzle.
