What is this calculator?
Large, widely-followed Korean companies like Samsung Electronics and SK hynix each run completely different bonus schemes — different base pay (full annual salary vs. monthly base salary vs. a fraction of salary), different payment frequency, caps, and whether payouts are deferred. This calculator pre-fills the formulas for representative schemes based on public company notices and news reports, and computes your estimate once you pick a company and division.
Scope
This calculator only covers representative schemes that can be computed from public data — Samsung's OPI and TAI, and SK hynix's PS. Both companies may have additional schemes (e.g. Samsung's special management bonus, SK hynix's semi-annual PI) that aren't included in this version because their exact individual-level formulas aren't fully confirmed by public sources. In other words, the total shown here is not "everything you could receive" from that company.
Why gross amounts only
Actual withholding tax on a bonus isn't a simple flat rate — it depends on the payment period, salary already paid in that period, dependent deductions, and more. Rather than show a precise-looking but wrong take-home estimate, this calculator only computes gross (pre-tax) amounts.
